Online Mall for S. Korean Products Opens to Overseas Buyers

Seoul, June 24 (QNA) – South Korea’s international trade agency said Tuesday it has opened an online shopping mall showcasing the best products and cultural contents made by local firms for easy purchase from overseas.

The South Korean International Trade Association (KITA) said the new Kmall24 (Kmall24.com) aims to make transactions easy for buying local products from overseas, a win-win arrangement for both buyers and sellers.

The online shopping site aims to appeal to consumers in China, Japan, Southeast Asia, the United States and Europe, although anyone who can make payments online can purchase some of the best South Korean goods without restrictions.

For the launch, some 1,630 products will be sold, including 650 digital and home appliances, 680 fashion related products and accessories, 300 traditional Korean products and cultural contents.

The online mall will show detailed product information in English, Chinese and Japanese using both written texts and in some cases video images, with payment options to include Paypal, Alipay and credit cards. KITA said depending on consumer response Spanish and Arabic language services may be added down the road.

The trade agency said products sold on Kmall24 will be cross-posted on eBay, Amazon.com, Amazon Japan and China’s fast-growing Tmall online marketplace to widen exposure, with the site even taking steps to allow the products to be found through major search engines. (QNA)
