Advisor to Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari announced that HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani will begin today a visit to the Russian Federation during which he will deliver a written message from HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to HE President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Al Ansari said that HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs will also meet in Moscow with Russian Prime Minister and Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the two meetings, they will discuss a number of regional and international issues, the latest developments in Afghanistan and the Iranian nuclear file, in addition to ways to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian crisis peacefully and address its humanitarian repercussions, he said.
He added that His Excellency will stress during the meetings the position of the State of Qatar in support of all international efforts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian crisis peacefully through dialogue and diplomatic means.
Dr. Al Ansari stated that His Excellency will also discuss with the Russian side ways to enhance bilateral relations in a number of areas of common interest.
