NIHR participates in 29th annual meeting of Asia-Pacific Forum

Bangkok, The National Insitution for Human Rights (NIHR), represented by its chairperson Ali Ahmed Alderazi, participated in the 29th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Forum (APF) held in the Thai capital, Bangkok from September 24 to 25.

Khunan Jargalsaikhan, Acting Chair of the Asia-Pacific Forum and head of Mongolia’s National Human Rights Commission, began the meeting by thanking the representatives of national institutions in the region for their attendance. They reviewed the Forum’s performance report from June 2023 to June 2024, the gender goals in national institutions, and approved the financial report along with the accreditation classification for Forum members this year.

During the conferance, Al Derazi gave a presentation on the right to enjoy a healthy, safe, and sustainable environment, discussing the national legislative frameworks, legal systems, plans, strategies, and work programs related to the most important issues on human rights. The conference also covered 2030’s Sustainable Develo
pment Goals, relevant government reporting, and key environmental rights issues, including key challenges. He emphasised the role of NIHR in promoting and protecting environmental rights.

The NIHR’s participation in the APF Annual Conference reflects its commitment to promoting regional and international cooperation, which effectively contributes to the exchange of experiences and best practices in the field of human rights, which helps develop the policies and procedures adopted by participating organisations participating in the Forum and enhances its quality.
