Manama, The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) held a ceremony to honour hospitals and medical centres that received the National Quality Accreditation for 2024.

Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), and Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, attended the event.

The Chairman of SCH noted Bahrain’s pride in its accreditation programme, which is mandatory and linked to licence renewal. The programme identifies areas for improvement in healthcare institutions across the Kingdom, focusing on governance, management, patient safety, infection control, and quality management, among other standards.

The NHRA plays a vital role in improving the performance of healthcare providers through the accreditation process, which enhances the quality of services and serves as a foundation for implementing the health insurance programme.

During the ceremony, all accredited healthcare institutions for 2024 were honoured, i
ncluding the Salmaniya Medical Complex for receiving accreditation from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) and the Primary Healthcare Centres for receiving accreditation from the Canadian Accreditation Council.
