NEW HYGIENE LAW TO COME INTO FORCE TODAY

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has said all municipalities in the country are all set to implement Law No 18 of 2017 on Public Hygiene tomorrow, February 1.

In a statement, the MME said it has prepared a comprehensive media campaign to raise awareness of the new hygiene law, which includes providing information about the new violations through advertisements. Informative material will be put up along streets across the country, and a campaign will also be conducted on the Ministry’s social networking sites.

Work has been carried out to distribute the revised paperwork, incorporating the new provisions related to violations and reconciliation as stipulated in the law, and the municipalities have directed the officials concerned to withdraw old records and replace them with the new ones.
