Nahyan commends relations with Japan

WAM ABU DHABI: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, today received Japan’s Economy, Trade and Industry Minister, Toshimitsu Motegi who is leading a delegation to Abu Dhabi to the Abu Dhabi Japan Economic Forum.

In remarks at the meeting, Sheikh Nahyan commended the historic and long-standing friendly ties between the two UAE and Japan which were established more than 5 decades ago. He noted that Japan was among the first countries to open an embassy in the UAE.

He also commended the signing of two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) today between the UAE University and the Medical Excellence – Japan (MEJ) and The University of Tokyo’s Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), at the Abu Dhabi Japan Economic Forum, which saw the signing of eight other agreements between government and semi-government agencies in Abu Dhabi and Japan to promoted closer cooperation in many fields.

Sheikh Nahyan noted that agreements cooperation is another proof of the deep relations which were established by the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and continue to be promoted by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
