Municipality of Abu Dhabi City explores coop with German power production firms

WAM Abu Dhabi, Jan 20th, 2013 (WAM) — Engineer Salah Awad Al Sarraj, Acting General Manager of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, recently received a delegation of a host of German companies specialized in power production led by Jurgen Sander, Chairman and CEO of VEM Motors GmbH.

During the meeting, attended by a number of municipal engineers ‘&’ officials, the two parties explored means of cooperation and exchanging expertise in the fields of power production, provision of water and sustainability.

At the outset of the meeting, Engineer Al Sarraj reiterated the strong cooperative ‘&’ cordial relationships linking the UAE and the Republic of Germany the foundations of which were laid by the wise leadership of both countries in the interest of the two friendly peoples.

He briefed the delegation on the efforts and achievements made by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City in the fields of infrastructure projects, town planning, and the delivery of services as well as environmental and sustainable development projects spanning power management in buildings, Estidama system, sustainable lighting, economizing on power consumption and the utilization of solar energy in power generation.

The German delegation heeded to an elaborate briefing from engineers of the Municipality about the key pillars of the lighting strategy adopted by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City which aims to reduce the levels of luminance intensity, and cost of power generation ‘&’ consumption, in addition to the buildings power management project the initial phase of which has recently been completed by the Municipality in Abu Dhabi downtown area. Projects portfolio also includes Scada project.

Members of the German delegation gave an explanation about the nature and scope of their firms along with their products range, and showed their readiness to cooperate and share expertise with the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City. They also expressed their interest in benefiting from the practices of the Municipality in carrying out sustainability projects.
