Mohammed bin Zayed names board of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority

WAM Abu Dhabi, 19 Dec. 2012 (WAM) — His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, has issued a resolution appointing board of the newly established Abu Dhabi Housing Authority under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Executive Council of Abu Dhabi.

The resolution named the Director General of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, Jabr Mohammed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, as deputy chairman of the Authority, and the following as members of the board : Saeed Mohamed Saeed Al Maqbali, Undersecretary of Ministry of Presidential Affairs for Local Affairs, Khalifa Mohammed Hamad Al Mazrouie, Director General of Abu Dhabi Municipality, Dr. Mattar Mohammed Saif Al Nuaimi, Director General of Al Ain Municipality, Falah Mohammed Al Ahbabi, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, Mohammed Haji Abdullah Al Khoury, Director General of Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation, and Sultan Khalfan Mattar Al Rumaithi from the Court of Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region.

Members of the board will each serve a term of two years, subject to renewal.

The Authority’s mission is to put presidential instructions on housing programmes in place and identify the requirements needed to implement them. The terms of reference also include preparation of logistics support for infrastructure requirements and engineering services, development of housing programmes, and drawing regulations and rules of each housing programme (like objectives, working mechanism, implementation plans and criteri of house allocation).

The authority will have a central data base containing housing applications, maintain confidentially and security of information, receive and review applications and taking actions on them, and review loan applications of housing programmes.
