Mohammed bin Zayed holds talks with King Abdullah, Tunisian President

WAM Kuwait, 30 Jan. 2013 (WAM) — His Highness Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, discussed here today with H.M. King Abdullah II of Jordan adequate mechanisms for strengthening relations between the UAE and Jordan.
The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the International Donors Conference for Syria, took stock of the latest regional and international developments, including the situation in Syria. The two sides stressed the need of mobilising international efforts to provide relief and assistance to the Syrian refugees. Topics on the agenda of the donor conference were also discussed during the meeting.
King Abdullah told WAM that he was satisfied with the deep joint consultation and understanding between the UAE and Jordan.
”We are absolutely satisfied with the regular consultation with brothers in the UAE regarding all issues, and, in particular, the Syrian file, whether with regards to relief and humanitarian scenes or the political developments,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed also held talks with President Moncef Marzouki of Tunisia on ways of enhancing bilateral relations in the service of the two brotherly peoples.
Sheikh Mohammed and the Tunisian head of state exchanged views on current events in the regional and international arenas with a focus on Syria. The two sides emphasised the importance of rallying international energies to halt the destruction in Syria, to put an end to the human tragedy being faced by the Syrian people within the country and abroad and to make every possible effort to deliver humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees.
The two meetings were attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Foreign Minister, Dr. Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, the Under Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Faris Mohammed Al Mazrouei, the Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs, and the delegations accompanying King Abdullah and Tunisian president.
