Mohammed bin Rashid honors pioneer teachers and students of Al Ahmadiyah school

WAM Dubai, Dec 23rd, 2012 (WAM) — Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, today honored pioneering teachers and students of Al Ahmadiyah School in Dubai on the occasion of the 100 anniversary of establishing of the institution as first school in Dubai.

H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Mohammed Ahmed Al-Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council, and H.H. Sheikh Majed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, attended the ceremony held at the headquarters of Culture and Sciences Symposium in Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed personally presented shields to 34 veteran teachers and gave shields to children of deceased educators, who left memorable hallmarks in the national education landscape.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed his extreme delight at meeting a galaxy of elite educators, some of whom taught him, and shook hands with them and recalled the pleasant memories during his path of learning.

Sheikh Mohammed wished good health and long life to those who are still a life and prayed The Almighty for the soul of those passed away.

The Vice President then honoured nearly 130 prominent personalities who attended Al Ahmadiyah School.

Al Ahmadia School, popularly known as �Umm al Madaares’ (Mother of schools), is Dubai’s first and oldest seat of learning. It was built by a group of founding fathers led by the late Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed bin Dalmouk.
