MOEHE Calls for Early Registration in Public Schools

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) called on parents to quickly enroll their children in public schools and kindergartens, during the early registration period for the next academic year to be able to select an appropriate school and complete the registration procedures.

The early registration in public schools for the academic year (2023/2024) began on April 12 and will continue until Sep. 9.

Speaking with Qatar News Agency , the MOEHE's Director of Schools and Education Affairs Ali Jassim Al Kuwari said for the MOEHE allocated five months for enrollment to help parents select an appropriate school and complete all required procedures before the start of the academic year. He added that completing the student registration process during the early registration period is very important to avoid the problems that occur to some parents in the event of delay.

Al Kuwari pointed out that the number of registration applications for newcomers and transfer students has reached more than 5,000 male and female students in all stages, highlighting that the e-registration system provides the parents with three schools within their geographical scope and the capacity and the number of vacancies in each school.

Head of the Admission and Student Registration Department Omar Muhammad Al Fadaq said the categories eligible for public schools include children of Qatari men and women, GCC nationals, non-Qataris working in ministries and government agencies, or in private charities and private institutions of public interest, as well as children of permanent residence holders.

He added that the categories also include children of the private sector employees residing in areas and villages that do not have private schools, and do not have the required stage, indicating that it is not permissible to transfer them to public schools in Doha or areas and villages that have private schools, according to decisions and circulars issued in this regard.
