Ministry of Foreign Affairs evacuates Bahraini citizens from the Gaza Strip

Manama, Nov. 3 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs evacuated six Bahraini citizens from the Gaza Strip, through Rafah border crossing, to Egypt.

This came in implementation the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and in line with the ministry’s commitment to attending to the interests of citizens abroad.

Ambassador Dr. Mohammed Ali Bahzad, the Undersecretary for Consular and Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and head of the committee responsible for evacuation at the ministry, extended his thanks to the Foreign Ministry of Egypt on its efforts that contributed to the success of the evacuation, and the cooperation of all those concerned to facilitate its completion through the Rafah border crossing.

Dr. Bahzad said the ministry has taken all necessary measures to arrange for the return of the citizens to Bahrain safely.

He said that the Consular Affairs Sector at the ministry will continue to observe the situation in the Palestinian territories and to receive enquiries from remaining citizens there to arrange their evacuation.
