Ministry of Education Holds Final Contests for Verbal Fluency in English Language

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education's Department of Early Education held the final contests for the English verbal fluency for super readers.

Held under the slogan: " Best Start.. Read with Heart", the final contest included two groups of school juries to test 26 qualified schools.

Assistant Director of the Early Child Department Dhabia Al Khulaifi said the contests aimed at raising the academic achievement in linguistic skills for super readers in English language, and enrich their language and linguistic achievement with a significant number of words that are used in innovative expression.

She added that the contests intend to feed students with the fundamental skills and supportive capabilities during their upcoming educational process, based on the strategic objectives of the Department of Early Education, emanating from the MoEHE's goals.

For her part, Head of the Foundation Stage Department in the Early Child Department Sharifa Al Yazidi indicated that the contest underwent previous planning stages, where the first phase was held last March, and the final contests for the qualifiers ended on May 4, while winners will be honored in an organized ceremony at MoEHE's premises next Tuesday.

The preparation for this contest has been ongoing since the beginning of the academic class, where the planning team divided the contest into three-pronged phases: internal final contests in school, school geographic scope, final phase that depends on applying the winning criteria through correctly pronouncing the words in less time, member of the jury committee Mounira Bassam explained.

She added that whenever students pass certain stage, words pronunciation becomes difficult creating interesting challenge and competition, and leading to an increasing enthusiasm among the participating and qualified schools.
