Minister Industry visits NAVER Global Corporation

Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, visited NAVER Corp. with the Bahraini economic delegation currently on an official visit to South Korea.

Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Fares Al Dhaen, Chief of Afro-Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present.

Fakhro affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to enhance cooperation with South Korea in economic, investment, and technology sectors.

The minister was briefed on the work of NAVER, which specializes in internet, research, artificial intelligence (AI) and the development of advanced technologies, including robotics, autonomous driving and others, and contributes to the operation of many digital cities at a global level.

He stressed the importance of cooperation with NAVER, and benefiting from its global expertise in AI.

Founded in 1999, NAVER is one of the largest Internet companies in South Korea, managing the country's most popular search engine, and the most popular e-commerce platform, as well as providing many other global Internet services, and contributing to building smart cities.
