Marzouki Reiterates Tunisia’s Support to UN Reform

Tunis, September 19 (QNA) – Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki reiterated on Friday Tunisia’s support to the reform plan of the United Nations system and the democratisation of the Security Council, the Agence Tunis Afrique Presse said.

At his meeting with the ambassadors of Brazil, Germany, India and Japan who came to explain the position of their respective countries about the reform the United Nations Security Council, the four diplomats asked for Tunisia’s support in this area.

The Tunisian President stressed the need to ensure that the process of reform would later enable regional groupings, particularly the Arab and African groups to be represented in the Security Council.

Brazil, Germany, India and Japan have been bidding for several years now for permanent seats on the United Nations Security Council. (QNA)
