The Lebanese Army Command on Friday issued the following statement: “During a pursuit by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate of a vehicle in Cola region – Beirut containing a gang of Syrians engaged in fraudulent activities and impersonating security personnel, the driver attempted to evade capture by ramming into the patrol members and several civilians.
This forced the patrol members to fire warning shots and at the vehicle, resulting in the apprehension of several gang members.
Investigations have commenced under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
