King Abdullah II of Jordan, and the UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, affirmed, on Tuesday, the importance of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and surging life-saving humanitarian assistance into the Strip. During a meeting in London, they discussed bilateral relations, the dangerous developments in the region, and the worsening situation in the Gaza Strip. King Abdullah II of Jordan warned of the conflict expanding in the region and underscored the importance of the British role in galvanizing the efforts of all parties to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, in addition to reinforcing the humanitarian response to halt the catastrophe facing the residents of the Palestinian enclave. He underlined that Jordan would continue to coordinate with UK to surge humanitarian assistance into the Strip, warning of the acts of violence being perpetrated by the extremist settlers against the Palestinians in the West Bank and the relentless violations of Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem. King Abdul lah II of Jordan reiterated that the region would remain hostage to violence and instability unless a political horizon was found to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, which meets the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
