Jordan Receives 859 New Syrian Refugees

Amman, June 23 (QNA) – A total of 859 Syrian refugees, mostly women, children and elderly, entered Jordan during the past three days.

Jordanian refugees affairs department said in a statement Monday that border guards transferred the refugees to Al-Zaatari and Al-Azraq Refugee Camps
Emergency aids and necessary supplies were provided to the refugees and sick and injured refugees were transferred to medical centers for treatment.

The refugees affairs department added that 103 refugees returned voluntarily to their home country.

In a statement issued Sunday, the Jordanian refugees affairs department said the number of Syrian refugees in Jordan since the conflict began in their country reached 644,758, adding that 99,200 refugees were located in camps. (QNA)
