Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), announced that the 27th Joint Ministerial Council between the Cooperation Council and the European Union (EU) will be held on Tuesday, October 10 in Oman.
The meeting will be headed by Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council, and in the presence of the Foreign Ministers of the GCC and the EU countries, with the attendance of Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The secretary general underlined the strong GCC-EU relations and their keenness to strengthen cooperation, based on the previously signed GCC-EU Partnership Agreement.
Albudaiwi also stated that the meeting aims to complete the strategic dialogue between the Cooperation Council and the Union, a dialogue in which bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them at all levels are discussed, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international issues, in light of the rapid regional and international developments.
