WAM Sharjah, May 12th, 2013 (WAM)– H. H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed AI-Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and wife of H. H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, said each person in the UAE, whether an Emirati or a resident, is responsible for conserving the environment.
She noted that protection of the environment should match the prosperity being experienced by the UAE, adding that the UAE government allocates millions of Dirhams annually to update infrastructure and protect the environment.
Sheikha Jawaher called on visitors to the various wilderness areas in the UAE during the weekends to keep the environment clean.
The remarks were made on Saturday during a music concert organised by the Children’s Centre – Sharjah at Sharjah Ladies Club Theatre.
Children performed a song entitled: “My life in the Wilderness”. The song sheds light on the importance of preservation of the environment through a series of social responsibilities.
