Japan recorded its biggest trade deficit in 2022, official data showed today.
The Finance Ministry said in a statement that the deficit for the year ended in March was about 21.7 trillion yen, or roughly $161 billion. Exports were also up 15.5 percent, while imports grew more than double that rate at 32.2 percent.
