Iraq Proposes Emergency Arab and Islamic Summit on Lebanon

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein announced that Iraq has submitted a proposal to hold an emergency Arab and Islamic summit on Lebanon.

During the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level on Monday, Hussein presented a proposal to hold an emergency Arab and Islamic summit to unify efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

He stressed that Arab and Islamic solidarity represents a fundamental pillar in facing the challenges in the region.

The Israeli entity has escalated its air and artillery attacks on villages and towns across southern Lebanon, coinciding with its ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023.

Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on southern and eastern Lebanon has risen to 492, in addition to 1,645 injured
