Information Minister receives participants in British regional communications conference

Manama, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, the Minister of Information, received Alistair Long, the British Ambassador to Bahrain, who introduced a delegation of participants from the regional communications conference for British embassy officials in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

The conference, held in Bahrain in coordination with Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is organised by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

The minister welcomed the UK ambassador and the visiting delegation, highlighting the strong historical ties between Bahrain and the UK, which have continueud to develop over more than 200 years, supported by the leaderships of teh two countries.

Dr. Al Nuaimi expressed pride in Bahrain’s commitment to tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and respect for diversity,which has made it a model for peace across religions and cultures. He emphasised the importance of strategic media partnerships, especially in today’s challenging times, to promote regional and glo
bal peace and stability, aligning with Bahrain’s vision of supporting efforts to establish lasting peace and prosperity.

The ambassador thanked the minister for the warm welcome, praising Bahrain as an ideal location for the conference due to its openness to diverse cultures and supportive environment for dialogue and cooperation. He also commended the hospitality extended to the delegation, which contributed to the success of the conference.

The delegation visited the National Communication Centre (NCC), where CEO Ahmed Khalid Al Araifi gave a presentation on the centre’s role in coordinating government media messaging in Bahrain. They also visited the Ministry of Information’s News Centre, where they were briefed on the advanced technology used in delivering news content. The delegation ecommended Bahrain’s modern media infrastructure, which reflects the country’s progress and development.
