ICJ Demands Israeli Occupation to Halt Aggression on Rafah Immediately

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Friday called on the Israeli occupation to halt military offensive on Rafah immediately, affirming that the situation in Rafah has deteriorated further since the recent ruling rendered by the ICJ and stressed the need for opening the Rafah crossing to humanitarian convoys. In its session held in The Hague on Friday to issue a decision on the South Africa's bid for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the ICJ ruled that the Israeli occupation must submit a report of the measures taken within one month, stressing the importance of maintaining the evidence and taking essential measures to ensure unhindered arrival of investigators in the Gaza Strip. The current situation poses further irreparable risks to the rights of Gazans, ICJ confirmed, adding that it is not convinced of the measures taken by the Israeli occupation in this regard and deemed them as inadequate to alleviate the plight of Palestinians. Also, the court pointed out that the provisional measures taken do n ot entirely address the consequences of the changing situation. Source: Qatar News Agency
