His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was congratulated by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), on Winfred Yavi’s first place and gold medal win in the women’s 3000m steeplechase title at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
HH Khalid bin Hamad affirmed that this outstanding accomplishment is an addition to Bahrain’s sports achievements, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HH praised the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, in the sports sector, as well as the efforts of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) to support the Bahraini national team, led by Mohammed Abdullatif bin Jalal.
