NNA – The Media Office of the Ministry of Public Health, on Saturday, issued the following statement: ‘The Public Health Ministry welcomes any solidarity initiative with Lebanon, especially in the medical field, by foreign specialist doctors. However, the Ministry wishes to draw attention to the fact that practicing medicine in Lebanon requires prior permission from the Doctors Syndicate and the Ministry of Health, in implementation of applicable laws and out of concern for the interests of patients.”

The statement added, “The Ministry would like to clarify that for doctors who are members of official solidarity delegations, their permissions are coordinated in advance.”

On another note, the Ministry of Health reiterated its appreciation to the Lebanese resident doctors who made tremendous, continuous efforts for long hours over the previous days, and demonstrated a high level of professionalism and dedication in serving their families and their community.
