Harlem Globetrotters meets Abu Dhabi schoolchildren

ABU DHABI: Legends of the world Famous basketball team Globe Trotters showed support to youth initiatives in the emirate of Abu Dhabi at a meeting with thousands of students.

The iconic team stars Buckets Blake and Hi-Lite Bruton urged the students to continue study and sporting activities at the same time.

At the meeting, the stars gave a basketball demonstration performing tricks with local youth ahead of their forthcoming show in Abu Dhabi on 27 October at Zayed Sports City’s Tennis Stadium.

The Phoenix-based Harlem Globetrotters, known worldwide as the Ambassadors of Goodwill , are famous for their ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry, and one-of-a-kind family entertainment. The team has introduced the sport of basketball to millions since their first international overseas tour in 1950. The Globetrotters now perform over 150 international shows per year.

The Globetrotters have played over 24,000 games in their 87 year history and will be taking their talents to the Dubai Tennis Stadium on October 25 and 26 before heading back to the Zayed Sports City Tennis stadium for October 27.
