Ramallah – Ma’an – Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Mustafa opened the eleventh government session, today, Wednesday, by talking about the ceasefire and emergency relief efforts for our people in Gaza, and international efforts through the Emergency Humanitarian Response Conference in Gaza, which was hosted by the Kingdom of Jordan yesterday, Tuesday. .
Mustafa welcomed the Security Council’s decision to cease fire in Gaza, and its emphasis on the unity of the Palestinian territories and the two-state solution.
Regarding the financial crisis, Mustafa indicated that international efforts and contacts have begun to bear fruit, with some Arab and Western countries tending to make financial contributions during the coming period. However, the impact of these contributions will be limited, as long as Israel withholds the clearing funds, pointing to the expansion of international pressure on Israel. The Council of Ministers discussed a number of executive programs that
ministries and competent government bodies are working to implement in the Gaza Strip within the government’s plan for relief and early recovery, which include: developing mechanisms for transporting relief aid and commercial goods from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip, employing workers, and developing the agricultural sector and livestock. Social protection and women’s empowerment, restoring education, reviving the health sector, enabling local authorities to provide their services, and unifying government institutions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The Council of Ministers approved:
– Renewing contracts for doctors working with the Ministry of Health to enhance government medical services.
– Appointing health cadres to strengthen the resilience of citizens and medical services in the Al-Khalayla, Al-Nabi Samuel, and Beit Aksa neighborhoods in the Jerusalem Governorate.
– The Eid Al-Adha holiday is set from Sunday morning, 6/16/2024, until Thursday evening, 6/20/2024.
– Approval of purchase permit
s for apartments and lands for Palestinians who do not hold a Palestinian ID and meet the conditions.
– Approval of recommendations from the Technical Committee for State Property Management.
– Forming a committee regarding patients of the southern governorates who are in the northern governorates.
– Approval of the contract annex for the wastewater purification project in Hebron.
– Approval of the establishment of a local authority in the Malha area in Bethlehem Governorate.
