GCC FINANCE MINISTERS TO MEET IN BAHRAIN

Riyadh, - The GCC's Ministers of Finance will hold Thursday the 106th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The committee will discuss the findings of the technical committees responsible to develop appropriate mechanisms for the implementation of the GCC's unified value-added tax (VAT) and selective taxation agreements which signed by the member states.

The committee will also address a number of issues, including the recommendations of the Committee of Governors of GCC Monetary Institutions and Central Banks on the linkage of payment systems of the GCC countries, the recommendations of the GCC Customs Union regarding the completion of requirements for the customs union and the recommendations of the GCC Common Market Committee.

The Committee will review the deepening of economic integration among GCC countries, converging of incentives and benefits provided to the private sector in the GCC countries.

The Ministers' meeting will be preceded by a preparatory meeting of Undersecretaries of GCC finance ministries on Wednesday. (QNA)
