Amman, During his speech at the Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza Conference in Amman, GCC Secretary General Jasem Albudaiwi highlighted the challenging situation faced by the Palestinian people. He condemned the Israeli occupation forces for their irresponsible and inhumane practices, which have had severe consequences for regional security and global stability.

Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC’s stance, demanding an immediate halt to the Israeli military operations that have disregarded humanitarian and legal boundaries. He strongly condemned the displacement of civilians and the targeting of hospitals, places of worship, and UN facilities.

He emphasized that the conference aligns with the GCC’s call, made during its Forty-Fourth Extraordinary Session of the Ministerial Council, for an international conference involving all relevant parties to address the Palestinian issue. The proposed solution should entail ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusal
em as its capital, in accordance with UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Albudaiwi reaffirmed the unwavering support of the GCC for the rights of the Palestinian people and condemned the aggression of the Israeli occupation forces. He praised the historical positions of the GCC states and the efforts of the Ministerial Committee mandated by the joint Arab-Islamic Summit to address Israeli aggression and promote the implementation of a two-state solution.

He commended European countries that have recently recognized the State of Palestine and urged others to follow suit, emphasizing the importance of respecting international laws and promoting human rights. He also welcomed the UN Secretary General’s decision to include Israel on the blacklist of countries that harm children, considering it a significant step towards holding Israel accountable for its violations against Palestinians.
