Four Killed, Eleven Injured in Peshawar Attack

Peshawar, May 11 (QNA) – At least four people were killed and five others injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a stadium in Peshawar, SAMAA News TV reported Sunday.

Police said the bomber targeted a group of refugees from Khyber Agnecy who had gone to a government-run camp in the stadium to fill out paperwork ahead of their journey home.

The incident took place in Arbab Niaz stadium in Parda Bagh area of Peshawar, close to a mosque on located on Dalazak Road. The explosion partially damaged the mosque.

SSP Operation Najeeb-ur-Rehman, while talking to media men also confirmed that a suicide bomber below himself up after firing at the main gate.

He said around 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of explosives were used in the blast.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene where several people were found injured. Officials said nine people were shifted to city’s Lady Reading Hospital, four of them succumbed to injuries.

The stadium is located in the main Peshawar city close to Parda Bagh, Shahi Bagh, Fruit Market and a government-run college. (QNA)
