Foreign Minister highlights Bahrain’s commitment to humanitarian initiatives

Manama, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, emphasised Bahrain's keenness for bolstering international solidarity and partnerships in delivering humanitarian aid to nations and populations impacted by conflicts and disasters. This comes within the Kingdom's history, religious principles, and serves as a cornerstone of the diplomatic vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Marking World Humanitarian Day, the minister lauded the royal vision and the governments' directives, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in consolidating the values of generosity and humanitarian efforts across national, regional, and international levels. Dr. Al Zayani commended the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) for its efforts under the directives of HM the King, Honorary President of RHF, with the support of the government and the continuous follow up of Shaikh Nasser bin H amad Al Khalifa, the Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of RHF. He highlighted RHF's societal role in supporting orphans, widows, and vulnerable groups. This includes its humanitarian initiatives, which include 58 relief and development projects across 16 countries. These efforts include the establishment of health and educational projects and the provision of medical aid, food, and relief to the Palestinian people and others affected by wars and disasters. Dr. Al Zayani commended the pioneering humanitarian and diplomatic initiatives of HM the King, which were proposed during the 33rd Arab Summit held in Bahrain. These initiatives include the call for convening and hosting an international peace conference aimed at establishing a Palestinian state, based on the two-state solution and according to international legitimacy resolutions. The initiatives aim to deliver educational and health services to those impacted by regional conflict s, support international efforts towards achieving an immediate, comprehensive, and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and guarantee full and sustained access to humanitarian aid. The initiatives also call for the protection of civilians and humanitarian convoys, with a particular focus on United Nations personnel and relief organisations, in accordance with international humanitarian law. Dr. Al Zayani emphasised Bahrain's commitment to its mission and initiatives as a proactive global partner, dedicated to promoting solidarity, human fraternity, and peaceful coexistence among diverse peoples and cultures. The minister underscored the Kingdom's commitment to multilateral cooperation in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and resolving disputes through peaceful means.
