HE Expo 2023 Doha Commissioner General Ambassador Bader bin Omar Al Dafa said that the State of Qatars hosting of the exhibition translates into the launch of six months of events and activities to confront climate change challenges.
He noted, however, the State of Qatar’s interest in launching various initiatives to ensure a safer and more stable future for all peoples.
During the Expo’s opening, Ambassador Al Dafa said that all efforts are united in this global event, the first to be hosted by a desert country with a dry climate, yet held in Al Bidaa Park, to achieve the noble goal of using technology and innovation for the service of agriculture and food security, and to raise environmental awareness on sustainability.
HE Expo 2023 Doha Commissioner General added that the three Expo zones were selected to be open spaces, in order to learn about the success stories of participant countries in overcoming the risks and challenges of climate change, drought, and desertification turing those challenges into opportunities for sustainable development.
HE Al Dafa said that over the next six months, visitors will learn about the cultures and contributions of participant countries to human civilization through architecture, writing, publishing, and the arts, addressing human conscience and mind beyond time and space.
He pointed out that the exhibition represents an opportunity for researchers, innovators, and talents to present their research and inventions in the field of agriculture and horticulture, enabiling flexibility and adaptation in the face of climate change repercussions. Visitors will also have the opportunity to find sponsors for their socially benefiting projects.
HE Expo 2023 Doha Commissioner General Ambassador Bader bin Omar Al Dafa addressed the attendees by saying that in the past, the Arabian tent was open from all directions in order to welcome guests from all sides, and today Qatar opens the Expo 2023 Doha’s tent welcoming guests and affirming that Qatar is home to the world.
