Dubai Executive Council’s Economic Development Committee reviews attraction of FDI
WAM DUBAI, May 14th, 2013 (WAM)–Dubai Executive Council’s Economic Development Committee chaired by H. H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Second Vice Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, discussed during an extraordinary meeting the policy of attracting and regulating Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to Dubai.
The move aims at preserving Dubai’s international competitive status.
Held at Emirates Towers in the presence of Abdullah Al Shaibani, Secretary General of the Dubai Executive Council, the committee reviewed ways to further develop mechanism for collection of information and accurate data on the volume of foreign trade at the free zones so as to enable the decision makers take appropriate decisions.
The committee also discussed means of attracting direct local and foreign investments, as well as encouraging foreign investments to transfer knowledge and technology.
