DUBAI: Various topics of mutual interest to Dubai and Shanghahi were discussed by Assistant Director General for International Affairs ‘&’ Partnerships at Dubai Municipality Obaid Salem Al Shamsi and Vice Mayor of Shanghai Shen Jun on the side lines of Third China Friendship Cities International Conference which concluded today in China.
“Communication and co-operation between two cities were active and effective especially after the twinning agreement signed in 2000,” Al Shamsi after the meeting.
“In the field of urban planning, environment and in municipal activities in general, Dubai and shanghai have to share more for results that benefit both,” he added.
Shen Jun said partnerships and twinning mechanism between global cities would result in great wonders in various developmental projects.
“Sharing of expertise and experience is must for any city that aspires to go global,” he further added.
Shen, is in charge of urban construction, land recourses, water, transport and civil defence of Shanghai City.
After meeting with the Vice Mayor, Eng. Obeid Shamsi visited The Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Centre which will be listed in Guinness world record as the biggest ever exhibition centres.
