Columbia University Delegation Visits Qatar Foundation, for Local Press

Doha, April 21 (QNA) – A delegation from Columbia University in the
City of New York visited the education city at Qatar Foundation for
Education, Science and Community Development (QF) to gain an insight
on the architecture and interior design within Education City in
Qatar.
The delegation included nine students from the Graduate School of
Architecture, Planning and Preservation, at Columbia University.
Acting Technical Director of the Qatar Foundation Capital Projects
Directorate Ameena Ahmadi The delegation was then taken on a tour of
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) within Education City,
the Liberal Arts and Sciences Building and the Qatar National Library
– which is still under construction.
Ahmadi said that more than 60%of the Education City master plan was
complete, adding that the directorate continues to work on reducing.
The delegation also attended a lecture about urban development in
Qatar by Associate Teaching Professors Kelly Hutzell and Rami el
Samahy from the Department of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon
