The College of Engineering at Qatar University (QU) honored its students affiliated with the Artificial Intelligence Club, who organized a number of events for this year, the most prominent of which was the Artificial Intelligence Week, which had a tangible impact and clear participation from university students and the local community.
The exhibition, which lasted for a week, allowed youth and local institutions to showcase their innovations and solutions in artificial intelligence, and the exhibition was accompanied by several workshops presented by specialists from all fields.
The students were honored by: Dr. Khaled Kamal Naji, Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ali, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Ali, Director of KINDI Center for Computing Research, and Engineer Walid Makhal, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.
Commenting on the honoring, Dr. Khaled Kamal Naji, Dean of the College of Engineering, said: "The fact that the Artificial Intelligence Club has highlighted the role of our students and their ability to create distinctive and innovative events that contribute to meet the Qatari society's need for human resources in artificial intelligence. It also positively affects the youth and students segment in Qatar society by expanding their awareness about the solutions available in artificial intelligence and how they work.”
The Dean of the College of Engineering also emphasized the cooperation between students and faculty members in the College of Engineering and what they can offer together through this club. He added, "The club aims to contribute to spread awareness about artificial intelligence in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, and the aspirations of students those who are interested in artificial intelligence."
For his part, student Musallam Al Qawasmi, President of the Artificial Intelligence Organization, praised the efforts made by the members of the organization, and stated that such opportunities are the greatest motivation for students to continue creativity, innovation and change-making in society, especially when it comes to modern technology and artificial intelligence, and the importance of students’ participation in These activities enrich their knowledge, expand their ideas and push them towards new horizons.
The honoring included the students: Muslim Al-Qawasmi, President of the Artificial Intelligence Organization, Iman Katmawi, Vice President of the Organization, Fatima Al-Nahhas, Salam Al-Khouribi, Muhammad Ghoul, Raghad Akl, Fatima Al-Zahra Ahmed, Omar Al-Shenhabi, Hadeel Khater, Faryal Marzouk, Rabab Atallah and Sarah Ahmed.
