MAKARY INSPECTS NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY AND STUDIES AND PUBLICATIONS DIRECTORATE’S ARCHIVE PRESERVATION WORKSHOP

Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, on Thursday inspected a workshop on sorting, preserving and digitizing the photo archives of the "National News Agency" and the Information Ministry's Lebanese Studies and Publications Directorate, which started two weeks ago and is run by the French National Audiovisual Institute Expert, Veronique Clavier. The Director of the National News Agency (NNA) Ziad Harfouch, Head of the Ministry's Studies and Publications Directorate Khodor Majed, Director of Radio Lebanon Mohammed Gharib, and the Minister's Advisor for Francophone Affairs, Elissar Naddaf, participated in the workshop. Minister Makary viewed several photographs dating back to the sixties of the last century, and learned how to preserve and digitize these photos.

Al-Baath University, Russian Kovalevsky Institute of Marine Biological Research discuss scientific cooperation

Rector of al-Baath University Abdul Baset al-Khatib discussed with Deputy Director of Kovalevsky Institute of Marine Biological Research for International Affairs in the Russian Federation prospects of scientific cooperation, especially in the field of environmental and water diversity.

Discussions touched upon activating the joint scientific cooperation agreement signed in 2022 through exchanging students, conducting joint scientific research, and holding joint workshops and seminars that contribute to developing of scientific, research and cultural relations that serve the two countries.

Education Undersecretary: School results available online

Nawal Ibrahim Al Khater, Undersecretary for Policies, Strategies, and Performance at the Ministry of Education, announced the availability of school results online for the second semester of the academic year 2022/2023.

The results of the second semester of the current academic year, endorsed by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma today, the Education Minister today, will be available online through the students exam results digital service available on the national eGovernment portal and the educational portal provided by the Education Ministry (eduNET).

According to Undersecretary Al Khater, the results of primary students as well as the first two intermediate grades will only be available online within the next two days.

Al Khater noted that a QR Code has been added to secondary graduation certificates issued by the committee in charge of collecting student's grades, providing an additional feature for verifying the information on the certificate.

Grade appeals will be available as per standard procedure, she added.

Intermediate, secondary school results announced

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, the Education Minister, has extended sincere thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their support for the educational process.

The minister expressed his pride in all the ministry’s affiliates for the efforts they had made to ensure the success of the academic year.

Dr. Juma made the statements while endorsing the second term academic results of secondary and intermediate students.

The pass rate for the intermediate school certificate was 72%. Those who did not pass the final exam will have to retake it in the second round in which the success rate is expected to increase.

The success rate for grade 12 students (General Certificate of Secondary School Education) was 98.3%.

The minister said results of the primary stage and the first and second grades of intermediate school will be announced by Monday, June 5.

The minister held personal calls with the top achievers, congratulating them on their outstanding results. He also paid tribute to their parents for their tangible efforts in following up on their children’s academic achievements.

The minister affirmed that the only criterion to obtain the Education Ministry's scholarships will be the students' cumulative gpa.

The minister wished the students further success in their next stage in life and striving towards a bright scientific and practical future, in which serving the nation will be a foundation.

Shaikha Hessa Girls School hosts 16th graduation ceremony

Shaikha Hessa Girls Schools hosted its sixteenth graduation ceremony. The 2023 batch included forty-two students who graduated with a high school diploma and an International Baccalaureate diploma.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and Supreme Council of Women (SCW) President, deputized SCW member and Injaz Bahrain Chairperson Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa to attend the graduation ceremony.

Shaikha Hessa Girls Schools Chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa expressed thanks and gratitude to HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa,

He appreciated the presence of Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa for attending the ceremony and distributing certificates to the graduates.

He also praised the school's efforts in efficiently managing the educational operation and providing premium services, while keeping abreast of technological developments, in a way that serves the students' interest and ensures the sustainability of education.

He hailed the school personnel, led by principal Samia Abdul Razzaq Al-Kooheji, extending congratulations to the students and parents for their success and their excellent results.

During the ceremony, Shaikha Hala bint Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, a graduate of the Shaikha Hessa School for Girls, class of 2008 and a lecturer at the Bahrain Teachers College, delivered a speech as the guest of honor.

The ceremony which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel was attended by guests, officials, parents, the school's administrative and educational staff bodies, and members of the Board of Directors.

During the ceremony, the outstanding graduates delivered speeches, expressing their joy, gratitude, loyalty and hope.

HEC Secretary-General receives Gulf University delegation

Higher Education Council (HEC) Secretary-General Dr. Diana Al Johromi received a delegation from Gulf University, led by Board of Trustees’ Chair, Dr. Mona Rashid Al Zayani.

During the meeting, Dr. Al Johromi commended the role of higher education institutions in supporting competences and meeting labour market requirements.

The delegation congratulated Dr. Al Johromi on the issuance of the Royal Decree appointing her as HEC Secretary-General, praising the council board of trustees' support to higher education institutions.

Education Minister, Arab counterparts discuss prospects for joint cooperation

Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, met a number of his Arab counterparts and discussed with them the prospects for joint educational cooperation.

That came on the sidelines of the 13th Arab Education Ministers Conference which is being held in the Moroccan Capital of Rabat under the auspices of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).

In this framework, Minister Tabbaa met the Egyptian, Moroccan, and Palestinian ministers of education, and the Comoros, Somali, Djiboutian, Qatari, Kuwaiti, and Libyan ministers.

The Arab ministers expressed happiness at Syria’s return to its usual place in the associations and organizations of the Arab League, looking forward to joint cooperation with it.

In turn, Minister Tabbaa underlined the importance of the joint Arab educational work in developing the skills of the young generation, inviting them to visit Damascus.

At the conclusion of the Conference, Minister Tabbaa received the ALESCO Shield Award in appreciation of the efforts made by the Education Ministry in the field of digital transformation.

Tabbaa, Director General of Saudi (Mawhiba) Center of Excellence discuss educational cooperation

The Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, discussed Wednesday Khaled Al-Sharif, Director General of Saudi (Mawhiba) Center of Excellence, prospects for joint cooperation.

That came on the sidelines of the 13th Arab Education Ministers Conference, which is being held in the Moroccan capital of Rabat under the auspices of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).

Minister Tabbaa showed Syria’s interest in the field of excellence, creativity and gifted care through a number of educational programs and activities for the distinguished of different age groups.

During the meeting, an invitation was presented to Syria to participate with a number of Arab countries in an annual event organized by Mawhiba Center, which begins next June and ends next September.

Mawhiba is a Saudi foundation that aims to discover and nurture creative people in scientific fields, and to contribute to building a system and model for talent and creativity locally, regionally and globally.
