List of Participants in Qatar Coupe De France Des Chevaux Arabes Revealed

France Galop revealed the final list of horses participating in the Qatar Coupe De France Des Chevaux Arabes that is set to be held at a distance of 1,600 meters next Wednesday at the Chantilly racecourse in Paris. The race features the participation of five 3-year-old horses, including two from Al Shaqab Racing: Mahsoub (jockey Christophe Soumillon and trainer Thomas Fourcy) and Al Jori (jockey Alexis Pouchin and trainer Jean de Mieulle). The list also includes Safre Tourettes owned by Khalifa bin Sheail Al Kuwari (jockey Fabrice Veron and trainer Damien De Watrigant) and Mureb of Al Asayl France (jockey Anthony Crastus and trainer Francois Rohaut). QOC Celebrates International Olympic Day 2024

Doha: June 23 - In cooperation with the Qatar Winter Sports Committee (QWSC), the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) celebrated the International Olympic Day 2024 on Sunday, observed annually on June 23, the founding day of the International Olympic Committee back in 1894. On the occasion, the QOC and QWSC held the most popular winter sports for both men and women of all ages at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena, including: Figure Skating, Free Skate, Ice Hockey, Short Speed Skating and Curling. Moreover, a number of athletes and amateurs gave the audience an impressive performance, both individually and in group. The International Olympic Day celebration enjoyed a large turnout, during which the public got a chance to learn more about the Olympic Movement, its history, and values, along with the growing role of sports in promoting peace, love and in bringing peoples together. Through organizing this event, the QOC aims to encourage all segments of society to adopt a healthy lifestyle, raise awareness about t he importance of playing sport, along with informing the general public on the values and principles of the Olympic Movement. Qatar’s Beach Handball Team Qualify for The World Games 2025 in China

Doha: Qatar's beach handball team qualified for the World Games 2025 Chengdu which will take place from 7 to 17 August 2025 in Chengdu, in the People's Republic of China. Qatar ranks in the top 5 globally, alongside Brazil, Croatia, Denmark, and Tunisia, in addition to the host country, China. This is going to be Qatar's fourth time to make it to the World Games, following its participations in the 2013 edition in Colombia, in which Qatar came in 4th place, the 2017 edition in Poland, where Qatar finished 3rd, and the 2022 edition in the United States, with Qatar winning in second place. Qatar Men’s Volleyball to Face Egypt in FIVB Challenger Cup in China on July 5th

The Qatar men's national volleyball team will begin its campaign in the FIVB Volleyball Challenger Cup 2024 by facing off Egypt on July 5. This became known following the International Volleyball Federation, officially: Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB)'s publishing of the competition schedule for the tournament, which will take place in China from 4 to 7 July. Qatar's qualification for the FIVB Challenger Cup came after they emerged as 2024 Asian Men's Volleyball Challenge Cup champion, after defeating Pakistan 3-0. The tournament will see the participation of the following eight teams ranked in descending order: China, Belgium, Ukraine, Egypt, Qatar, Chile, Croatia, and Mexico. Murray to Miss Wimbledon 2024 After Undergoing Back Surgery

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) announced Sunday that Scottish tennis player Andy Murray, a two-time Wimbledon champion, will miss this year's tournament following back surgery. "After an operation on a spinal cyst, Andy Murray is sadly out of Wimbledon," the ATP said in statement. "Rest up and recover Andy, we'll miss seeing you there." Murray recently withdrew from the second round of the Queen's Club Championships during his match against Australia's Jordan Thompson due to injury, trailing 1-4 in the first set. Qatari Team Finishes 10th in Beach Handball World Championship

The Qatari beach handball team finished 10th after losing to its Uruguayan counterpart (1-2) in the XI IHF Men's Beach Handball World Championship 2024 which concluded Sunday in Pingtan. The first half ended in favor of the Qatari team (23-22), but the Uruguayan team prevailed in the second half (18-16), resulting in penalty shootouts in which the Uruguayan team scored (9-8). The Qatari team qualified for the main round after finishing 3rd in Group D with two points gained from its victory over the Uruguayan team (2-0) and losing to the United States (1-2) and Germany (2-0). During the main round, the Qatari team lost to Croatia (0-1), Argentina (1-2), and Portugal (1-2), while during the 9-16th place quarterfinals, the team beat Australia (2-0) and Tunisia (2-1) before losing to Uruguay on Sunday. This marks the 7th consecutive year that the Qatari beach handball team has participated in the World Championship. The team placed 10th in the 2010 Turkey edition, 7th in the 2012 Oman edition, 3rd in both th e 2014 Brazil and 2016 Hungary editions, 9th in the 2018 Russian edition, and 5th in the 2022 Greece edition. FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Draw in Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, witnessed Sunday the draw for the eighth edition of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2024 finals, which will be held from Oct. 16 to Nov. 3, with the participation of 16 teams. This will be the last edition of the tournament in which 16 teams will participate and 24 teams will compete starting from the Morocco 2025 edition.
