Capital Governor discusses cooperation with Cyberspace Child Protection Unit

Manama, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, met with Fouz Mohammed Ali, Head of Cyberspace Child Protection Unit of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security at the Ministry of Interior.

The governor commended the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Interior Minister, aimed at intensifying educational programmes and media campaigns to raise public awareness about negative behaviours and enhance the community’s understanding of potential risks.

The governor lauded the role of the unit in safeguarding children from online dangers and raising awareness about the various threats they might encounter in the digital space. He emphasised the importance of educating children on how to respond appropriately and seek help from relevant authorities.

The governor also highlighted efforts to ensure a safe digital environment for users of online platforms and mobile applications. He stressed the importance of p
romoting safe internet practices and conducting workshops and awareness sessions to protect users, particularly children, from becoming victims or engaging in cybercrime.
