Bahrain to take part in Gulf Junior Basketball Championship

Manama, Bahrain junior basketball team will head to Dubai tomorrow, Wednesday, to take part in the GCC Championship, which will open on Friday and run until August 6. The tournament is Asia Basketball Cup qualifier.

The national team is competing in the championship also with the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman.

The national coach Lithuanian tactician Mindaugas Lukosius has lined up – Nasser A; Anzoor, Omran Najaf, Mohammed Ghazi, Ismail Kamal, Abdulrazzak Saif, Mahdi Ali Khalifa, Ali Khalid, and Elyas Younes (Manama), Abbas Al Basri (Nuweidrat), Ali Jawad and Abbas Fadhel (Sitra) and Hassan Ghareeb (Al Ahli).

Bahrain will first play host country the UAE on Friday before taking on, respectively, Oman on July 30 and Qatar on July 31.

Following a day of rest on August 1, the national team will play Kuwait and Saudi Arabia on August 2 and 3 respectively during the first phase of the championship.
