Bahrain participates in international anti-terror conference in Tajikistan

Dushanbe, The delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by the Chief of the Strategic Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Nancy Abdullah Jamal, participated in the high-level international conference on “International and Regional Border Security and Management Cooperation to Counter Terrorism and Prevent the Movement of Terrorists”.

The two-day conference was co-organized by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the European Union (EU), with the support of the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Addressing the conference, Ambassador Nancy Jamal affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to combating terrorism and the various threats posed by terrorist organisations and their illegal and cross-border activities, stressing the Kingdom’s position towards combating terrorism, which is a priority to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

She also highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts in this field, noting its membership in local, regional and international border security systems and its active participation in a number of relevant groups and alliances, explaining that the ability to protect the country’s borders is a true testament to the strength of law enforcement in the Kingdom and its well-established legal infrastructure.
