Bahrain hosts largest global space apps hackathon with over 300 participants

Manama, The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) organised the seventh edition of the global space science applications hackathon on October 5-6, in collaboration with NASA. The event took place at two locations simultaneously: the University of Bahrain and Bahrain Polytechnic, with over 300 students, entrepreneurs, professionals, specialists, and enthusiasts participating.

The Bahrain Society of Engineers contributed to hosting and organising this year’s edition.

The hackathon is held in various cities worldwide, with 15 space agencies, including NASA, the European Space Agency, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, the Canadian Space Agency, and others, taking part this year. The previous edition saw over 57,999 participants from more than 152 countries.
