Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, received Shahin Abdullayev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bahrain.
The ambassador conveyed to the greetings of Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, and Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.
The Shura Chairman affirmed the keenness to consolidate and strengthen parliamentary relations between the Kingdom and Azerbaijan.
He said that bilateral visits and meetings has contributed to advancing cooperation and creating more opportunities to enhance ties between the two countries.
Al Saleh commended the efforts made by Azerbaijan National Assembly and the keenness it showed to hold the network meeting in the Kingdom on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meetings last March.
Ambassador Abdullayev praised the success of Bahrain in hosting the 146th Assembly of the IPU, and expressed appreciation to the legislative branch for its efforts in hosting the largest parliamentary gathering which reflects the Kingdom's high attraction to major international gatherings and conferences.
