At Least 10 People Killed in Indian Landslide

Mumbai, July 30 (QNA) – At least 10 people were killed and 150 more feared buried under a landslide that hit a village in Maharashtra state on Wednesday morning.

State administration sources said that 40 houses with 150 to 200 people are believed to be trapped under the debris. About five bodies have been recovered so far and the district administration fears that the death toll may increase further, according to Times of India.

The village is located on a remote hilly area and the region has been witnessing heavy downpour for the last two days. The rescue operations have been taken up on a war front, authorities said. (QNA)
