Asian U-15 and U-20 Wrestling Championship concludes

The curtain fell today on the first edition of the U-15 and U-20 Asian Wrestling Championship, which opend on June 2.

The continental competition was held at the Khalifa Sports City arena, under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chair and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President (BOC).

Bahrain Wrestling Association organized the championship in cooperation with Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Council and the Asian Wrestling Federation, under the supervision of the International Wrestling Federation.

GSA Vice Chairman, Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Council Chairman, His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, attended the final day which included the U-20 Freestyle class.

Forty-two participants took part in the contest, representing India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Taiwan and Uzbekistan.

HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa praised the efforts of the organizing committee, headed by Bahrain Wrestling Association Chairman, Abada Adnan Al-Mulla.

He also met Asian Wrestling Federation President Daulet Turlykhanov and conveyed to greetings from HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and his congratulations on the success of the first edition of the U-15 and U-20 Asian Wrestling Championship
