Arab Writers Union Conference kicks off in Bahrain

WAM Manama, Dec 23rd, 2012 (WAM) — The 25th conference of the Arab Writers’ Union kicked off yesterday in Bahrain under the slogan, “The Word for the Sake of Human Being.” The conference witnessed a host of cultural and poetic events, along with a gathering of varied number of cultural personalities.

Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported that the four-day event, being held at the Isa Cultural Centre, will discuss ways and mechanisms of boosting the development of Arab literary work.

The opening was attended by Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al- Khalifa, Minister of Culture of Bahrain, King of Bahrain’s Advisor for Media Affairs, Nabeel bin Yacoub Al-Hamer, Minister of State for Information Affairs of Bahrain, Samira Rajab, a number of Arab authors, writers and ambassadors accredited to Manama.
