Algeria win Arab Cup a year from World Cup in Qatar

Algeria lifted the Arab Cup in Qatar after beating Tunisia 2-0 after extra-time on Saturday in the World Cup dress rehearsal. Amir Sayoud netted the winner in the 99th minute with Yacine Brahimi then scoring in stoppage time. Not all went smoothly with the official FIFA website saying the game ended 1-0. Hosts Qatar beat Egypt 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the third place match earlier. The Arab Cup was last held nine years ago when it was won by Morocco but has been revived under the auspicies of FIFA to allow Qatar to run through its preparations for next year’s World Cup in November …
