Al Shaqab Racing’s MIGDAM coasts home at Kempton

Notching up his second win from only three starts, the Al Shaqab Racing-owned colt MIGDAM (Zelzal x Asyad) scored a facile success in taking the MansionBet Bet £10 Get £20 Restricted Novice Stakes at Kempton Park on Wednesday, September 29th.

Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, the two-year-old scored back-to-back wins at the track, having been successful over course and distance three weeks ago. The colt started long odds-on favourite and was given a confident ride by jockey Ryan Moore.

Settled against the rails early in the 1,600m contest, MIGDAM travelled well under Moore. HEERATHETRACK (Heeraat) took the field along at a brisk gallop down the back straight and was two lengths clear. Rounding the turn for home, MIGDAM took closer order and was poised to attack on turning into the straight. Once in the straight, MIGDAM was switched outside HEERATHETRACK and easily went clear of his rivals. Nudged along under hands and heels inside the final 200m, MIGDAM went on to score with ease from CITY STREAK (Cityscape) who finished two and a half lengths back in second while WARD CASTLE (Flintshire) produced some strong late work to take third close home. MIGDAM was bred by his owner Al Shaqab Racing and is from the first crop of Haras De Bouquetot stallion ZELZAL (Sea the Stars). His dam ASYAD (New Approach) won three races and was placed third in the DFS Park Hill Stakes (Group 2) at Doncaster in 2015. She has produced dual listed winner KATARA (Deep Impact). ASYAD is also a half-sister to triple Group Three winner ELLE SHADOW (Sharmadal).
