46 Palestinians Injured During Occupation Army Raid into Askar Camp East of Nablus

Forty six Palestinians were injured Tuesday during the Israeli occupation forces' raid into the refugee camp of Askar, east of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, sources confirmed.

Security sources told Palestine News Agency (WAFA) that a large unit of Israeli forces raided the camp and broke into the family house of the slain Palestinian Hasan Qatanani and took its measurements as confrontations broke out in the area.

Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Emergency and Ambulance Department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), told WAFA that medical crews dealt with 46 casualties; 44 of whom suffered from suffocation due to inhaling tear gas fired at them by Israeli forces, while one was shot with rubber-coated steel bullet and the other suffered injuries from falling.

The occupation forces deployed patrols in the streets, alleyways and entrances to the camp. Violent confrontations also took place at the scene, while ambulances were prevented from entering the camp.

In past weeks, Israeli occupation forces have stepped up their raids and intrusions on Palestinian villages and towns in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem and increased their arrests of Palestinian activists and young men.
